Design in Rhythm, Light in Layers
At 29 Cecil Street, Caringbah South, every element of this coastal residence has been considered — not just for how it looks, but how it feels underfoot, how it flows with light, and how it shapes the way we live.
The entire home is anchored by our Castel Nuovo Herringbone Oak flooring in the colour ‘Winston Hill’ — a soft, warm-white timber with a coastal sensibility. Its tone is quiet yet rich, subtly lifting the palette of each room without overpowering the architectural lines. Laid in a traditional herringbone pattern, the floor adds movement and visual rhythm across the interior — from the open-plan living space to the calm, curated bedrooms. It brings character, texture, and timelessness in equal measure.
In the living room, the interplay between sunlight, soft furnishings and the angled grain of the timber creates a natural harmony. The herringbone layout becomes more than a pattern — it becomes a design language that echoes throughout the home.
To maintain visual cohesion across all levels, we extended the same oak flooring to craft custom open box stairs, designed to float with lightness and sculptural clarity. Without risers, the stairs allow natural light to pass through, creating an airy, architectural transition that adds depth without density.
This is a space where materials speak softly, yet with intention.
Where floor and form move together — and where beauty is built from balance.
