Surface finish

In a bespoke timber floor, the finish is where the sensory experience begins. Each surface treatment shapes how light moves across the room, how the timber feels underfoot, and how the material speaks to the architecture around it. Our finishing options are fully customisable—ranging from calm, velvety matt surfaces to gently textured brushed treatments that reveal the grain with sculptural precision. Among these, Matt Finish and Brushed Matt Finish remain the most sought-after: one offering a quiet, understated elegance; the other adding a tactile depth that draws the eye and invites touch. Together, they create interiors that feel crafted, intimate, and unmistakably luxurious—where every detail, down to the final sheen of the timber, is tailored to the life lived within the space.

Three grades

AB Grade

AB Grade offers a clean and refined appearance with very minimal natural features. Knots, sapwood and colour variation are limited, creating a uniform, contemporary look ideal for interiors seeking a calm and elegant finish.

ABC Grade

ABC Grade provides a balanced natural look, allowing a moderate level of knots, feature marks and gentle colour variation. It maintains the authenticity of real timber while staying visually controlled—perfect for homes wanting warmth without strong rustic character.

ABCD Grade

ABCD Grade expresses the full character of natural oak. Larger knots, colour shifts and varied grain patterns are more visible, giving the floor a rich, organic presence. This grade suits interiors that celebrate texture, movement and a more rustic or expressive design style.

Patterns
Chevron
Chevron is similar to herringbone but with planks cut at 45-degree angles and joined end-to-end, forming a continuous "V" shape pattern, creating a look resembling arrows or a fishbone.
Herringbone
Plank herringbone is a classic flooring pattern where planks are laid in a staggered zigzag arrangement, forming a "V" shape, resembling the bones of a fish.
Versailles
Versailles flooring features a classic French parquet pattern made from interlaced geometric oak pieces arranged within a framed panel. The criss-cross lattice design creates depth and symmetry, delivering a refined, architectural look inspired by European heritage interiors.
Straight
Straight plank flooring is the most common type of flooring installation where planks are laid parallel to each other, creating clean and simple lines.
